 What's My Story?

 I have been an avid reader since toddlerhood. My mother read Dr. Seuss and Raggedy Ann early readers to me every night, and following these bedtime stories, she regaled me with tales so hilarious it was challenging to go to sleep because I wanted to hear more! 

Around age nine, I began spending hours writing in my diary, crafting notes to friends (to pass through the classroom mailing system), and composing poetry and short stories. Amazingly, a short story I wrote at 15 was published in my 40s! Around that time, I took a playwriting course, which renewed my interest in telling stories about people and their experiences. My first play, Indebted Bliss, won second place in the Montreal Film Noir contest. Since then, I've published poetry, short stories, and books. 

I write across many genres, including adult fiction and non-fiction. My debut children's picture book, I Want Blankie!, is close to completion, and I am excited to engage with early readers. 

My current work in progress, Growing Forward: 365 Days of Intention, is a daily focus reader many years in the making. I'm looking forward to finally bringing this little gem into the world! 

When I'm not writing, I'm diving into good reads, cooking tasty gluten-free vegan meals and desserts, and dancing. One of my greatest accomplishments is home-educating my son, who, as an adult, is thriving in the technology field. 

What stands out about the tapestry of my life and career is my love of words—spoken and written—and their ability to invite reflection, inspire possibility, and connect us with one another. 

I live in Montreal, Canada, with my dear husband and lovely cat, enjoying vibrant city life and cozy evenings at home.
