What's my Story?

I have been an avid reader since toddlerhood. My mother read Dr. Suess and Raggedy Ann early readers to me every night, and following these bedtime stories, she regaled me with tales so hilarious it was challenging to go to sleep because I wanted to hear more!

Around age nine I began spending hours writing in my diary, crafting notes to friends (to pass through the classroom mailing system), and composing poetry and short stories. Amazingly, a short story I wrote at 15 was published in my 40s! Around that time, I took a playwriting course, which renewed my interest in telling stories about people and their experiences. My first play (Indebted Bliss) won second place in the Montreal Film Noir contest. Since then, I've published poetry, short stories, and books. 

I write across many genres, including adult fiction and non-fiction. My debut children's picture book, I want Blankie! is close to completion, and I am excited to engage with early readers!

Also due for publication in 2025 is Growing Forward: 365 Days of Intention, a daily focus reader. This, too, has been a work in progress for many years, and I am eager to release this little gem!

When I'm not writing, I'm diving into good reads, cooking tasty gluten-free vegan meals and desserts, and dancing. I blend various professional roles as a Life Coach, Career Specialist, Learning Facilitator, and Educational Consultant because I am passionate about the lifelong learning spirit in each of us. One of my greatest accomplishments is home-educating my son who, as an adult, is thriving in the technology field. 

My career spans coaching and facilitating soft skills learning with adult career-changers, including job search preparation. I currently work as a Coach/Career Specialist with CareerFoundry students completing certificates (in Digital Technology, UX Design, Data Analysis, Product Development, and Product Management) while also coaching individuals and groups and doing educational consulting.

What stands out about the tapestry of my life and career is my love of words—spoken and written—to enlighten, inspire, and empower others.

I live in Montreal, Canada, with my dear husband and lovely cat, enjoying the vibrant city life and cozy evenings at home.
